Seven police officers assigned in Manila were arrested over a complaint that they allegedly conspired to extort money from a man they falsely accused of drug-related charges, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Tuesday.
The arrest stemmed from a report made by the complainant, who personally went to the NCRPO’s Regional Intelligence Division (RID) office on Monday to formally lodge the complaint.
