Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon did not mince words over a “ghost” project worth P96.5M they inspected in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental together with Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) Special Adviser Benjamin Magalong on Thursday (September 25).
Based on DPWH records, the project was completed and fully paid in 2022 but residents in the area and the barangay captain told Magalong and Dizon that construction only started 2-3 weeks ago.
The project was awarded to Discaya-owned firm, St. Timothy Construction Corporation, during the previous administration.
