This is my first attempt of recreating Phil Spector’s “Wall Of Sound” production technique which I fell in love with ages ago. I read a lot of books about it, although it took me a long time to figure out how to do it, but I managed to do it. Oh, and about the song choice, I picked this one because why not? It has that Spector touch to it. The original production of this song was not “Wall Of Sound” so I decided to re-arrange it. I extracted the vocal track using iZotope RX 7 (since AI wasn’t available by the time I made this) and then laid down the instrumental track from scratch. I used a lot of reverb and added analog tape plug-ins to get that vintage feel. I also used Abbey Road, Slate Digital and FL Studio plugins (I use FL as my DAW) and I think it turned out well. I’m satisfied with the “Wall Of Sound” approach of this song.
Oh, and credits to GMA 7 (the original owner of the video and sound recording) for the vocal track and the video. The video of me playing the instruments was shot by me.
