ZALDY CO’S UNVERIFIED CLAIMS LEAD TO DISMISSAL OF MAKABAYAN’S PBBM IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINT
Former congressman Zaldy Co did not validate his claims about the President’s involvement in the flood control corruption scandal, leading the Makabayan-backed impeachment complaint to be ruled insufficient in substance.
Co’s statements were part of the third ground, alleging irregularities like the ‘BBM Parametric Formula’ in infrastructure spending and other budget issues.
The House Committee on Justice ruled the complaint insufficient in substance, halting any further proceedings for at least a year, even though it was deemed sufficient in form.
On #Business360, House Justice Committee vice chairman Jonathan Keith Flores said the process followed House rules and the Constitution, with no political pressure influencing votes.
