DRILON: VP SARA’S IMPEACHMENT HINGES ON PRESIDENT MARCOS’ WILL
Former Senate President Franklin Drilon said the fate of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment largely depends on the political will of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., noting that the National Unity Party (NUP) retracted its earlier statement that it would not support the proceedings.
Drilon stressed that if the President cannot secure Congress’ backing to implement his policy, he has no business remaining in Malacañang, highlighting the interplay of presidential influence and congressional action in what is fundamentally a political process.
