Today, a large-scale protest against government corruption took place across key locations in Metro Manila, including EDSA, Luneta Park, and Mendiola. While the rallies at EDSA and Luneta were reported to be largely peaceful, the situation at Mendiola turned violent.

At Mendiola, near the Malacañang Palace, clashes erupted between a group of protesters and police. Reports indicate that masked individuals threw rocks and Molotov bombs at riot police. They also set a trailer truck and tires on fire, leading to a tense confrontation. In response, police used water cannons to disperse the crowd. The violence resulted in injuries to several police officers and the arrest of at least 17 protesters. The peaceful nature of the protests at other locations, such as Luneta Park and the EDSA People Power Monument, was in stark contrast to the chaos that unfolded in Mendiola.
