Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong said alleged wrongdoing by other officials cannot automatically be used as a basis to impeach President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., warning against misusing the principle of command responsibility.
“Well, I guess the logic there is that the President is the chain of command — everything stops, the buck stops at the Office of the President, right?” Adiong said. “But if you follow that logic, then all malfeasance and abuse of policies would be grounds to impeach a sitting President.”
