In an interview on World View with Marites Vitug, Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. says flood control and the state of Philippine infrastructure is a military issue, too. “Can our roads and bridges accept heavier loads that the new military equipment need?”
He adds: “More flooding distracts from core missions of the armed forces because then you’ll have to devote a lot of resources to non-core missions.”
