A Filipino tourist died after he was struck by a taxi that was suspected to have lost control at Nina Hotel in Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong.

A vehicle’s dash cam captured the moment of the crash when the man, who was looking at his phone as he came out of the hotel, was hit by a taxi.

The incident happened at around 2 p.m. when the taxi was approaching the hotel’s pick-up and drop-off point.

The driver is suspected to have suddenly lost control of the taxi before it rammed into the tourist.
The man suffered multiple injuries and was sent to Princess Margaret hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead.

The 80-year-old taxi driver also suffered injuries to his limbs.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
