Days after her controversial midnight press conference triggered by the detention of her top aide, Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday (November 25) showed up at the House of Representatives and immediately confronted lawmakers investigating the alleged fund misuse in her current and previous offices.
Duterte’s appearance at the House was preceded by a Saturday press conference where she revealed an alleged plan to have President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., the First Lady and the House Speaker assassinated should she get killed. The remark sent security forces into frenzy, calling it a “serious threat” to the First Family.
During the hearing, Duterte had to be reminded every few minutes to “respect” the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability and its members as they called out her supposed refusal to obey rules of congressional proceedings.
