Israel has ratified phase one of the US brokered Gaza peace deal with a ceasefire expected within 24 hours; then all living and deceased hostages held in Gaza are set to be released.
The US president believes this will happen as soon as Monday or Tuesday next week.
The Israeli cabinet signed off on the deal, despite opposition from far-right members including finance minister Bezalel Smotrich and national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
