A powerful earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale struck Leyte, Philippines, on Tuesday evening, September 30, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The quake was recorded at 9:59 p.m. local time at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter was located 52 kilometers west of Ormoc City, with a population of about 191,000, and 19 kilometers northeast of Bogo City, with a population of about 23,500.
