The Vice Mayor’s primary role is to preside over the local legislative body, such as the Sangguniang Bayan or City Council, and to act as the Mayor in case of the latter’s absence or temporary vacancy. They also play a key role in enacting ordinances and resolutions for the efficient functioning of the local government.
