LIVE: House infra comm probes into anomalous flood control projects | September 9

The House of Representatives resumes its joint inquiry into alleged corruption in the government’s multi-billion peso flood control program. Lawmakers are set to question officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), contractors, and other resource persons over projects flagged as non-existent, defective, or overpriced.

The investigation, led by a “mega panel” of three House committees, follows President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to address even the slightest indication of corruption. The probe focuses on billions of pesos allocated to flood management efforts, reports of ghost projects, and the alleged awarding of contracts to a select group of favored contractors since 2024.
