The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is set to hold a press briefing on the ongoing investigation into the alleged use of fake driver’s licenses by several Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials from Bulacan, infamously known as the “BGC Boys.”

This comes after Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson’s exposé on the group’s alleged involvement in anomalous flood-control projects and their lavish lifestyle, including losing nearly ₱1 billion in casinos. The LTO has already issued a 90-day suspension of the driver’s licenses of the individuals involved and has summoned them for a hearing.

The officials, identified as Henry Alcantara, Brice Ericson Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, and Edrick San Diego, are accused of using fictitious names and counterfeit LTO licenses to enter casinos. This press briefing is expected to shed light on the LTO’s findings and the potential filing of criminal charges, including the possibility of perpetual disqualification from obtaining a driver’s license.
