The Senate blue ribbon committee on Monday resumed its inquiry into alleged anomalous flood control projects. Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, chaired by Senator Rodante Marcoleta, continues its investigation into alleged widespread corruption in government-funded flood control projects. Lawmakers are looking into accusations of “ghost” projects, substandard construction, and the awarding of billions of pesos in contracts to a select group of contractors.
This hearing is expected to question several contractors and officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who have been subpoenaed to attend. The probe was initiated after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called for a review of flood mitigation programs and questioned the “disproportionate concentration and awarding of projects to a selected group of contractors.”
