Violence erupts near protests in the Philippines over corruption scandalOnly a handful of protesters remained along Recto near Mendiola after those who gathered in Mendiola and Quezon Boulevard were dispersed.
The police later drove off the remaining protesters, arresting several people in the process. As of 9:30PM, several anti-riot police force remain at Recto Avenue near Mendiola.

Nagpatupad na rin ng curfew si Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno sa mga menor de edad sa lungsod mula 10:00 PM – 4:00 AM.
Ayon sa MPD, mayroong 72 na indibidwal ang inaresto sa Maynila matapos manggulo umano sa mga protesta kontra katiwalian.
Violence broke out in Manila on Sunday, September 21, after protesters marching against corruption were blocked by police from reaching the Presidential Palace. Demonstrators hurled rocks and Molotov cocktails at anti-riot forces, who responded with flash bangs and water cannons to disperse the crowd.
The Philippine National Police reported dozens of injuries and confirmed the arrest of 17 protesters. The rallies, which drew tens of thousands earlier in the day, coincided with the anniversary of former strongman Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s declaration of Martial Law—an era many recall as one of the darkest chapters in Philippine history.
Ninakaw umano ng mga raliyistang nag sunog sa isang hotel ang vault sa Recto Avenue, Maynila nitong Linggo, Setyembre 21.
Ayon sa officer-in-charge ng hotel, sapilitang pumasok ang grupo sa establisimyento at nagsunog pati sa labas ng gusali. Isang security personnel naman ang nasugatan sa insidente, habang may ilang bisita pa ang naka-check in sa hotel nang mangyari ang kaguluhan.
