Senate Minority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto explains why he voted ‘yes’ to table the motion of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta to dismiss the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte.
“It is prudent to wait for the results (of the Supreme Court decision) rather than prematurely archiving, if not dismissing, because I know for a fact, once it is archived it is dead,” Sotto said in a Senate deliberation on Wednesday on the next steps regarding the impeachment trial.
He further expounded his stand, citing errors in the Supreme Court decision. He also said that the one year ban of VP Duterte’s impeachment did not set in.
Voting 19-5, the Senate votes against the motion made by Sotto to table the motion made by Marcoleta to dismiss the articles of impeachment against the vice president. #GMAIntegratedNews #BreakingNews
