Tragedy in the Philippines! Cebu is sinking, Typhoon Tino causes rivers to overflow

Torrential rains and sustained winds of up to 155 km/h felled trees and electric posts, blocking road access, flooded communities, affecting air routes as Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) hammered central Philippines overnight on Monday into Tuesday, November 4.

Severe flooding, mostly due to overflowing rivers, have been reported in huge parts of the metro including the cities of Cebu, Talisay, Mandaue and the towns of Consolacion, and Liloan, according to the latest report from the provincial government.

In Cebu City, severe flooding hit Barangay Bacayan, particularly the Villa del Rio 1 subdivision, where water reached the second floor of houses. Residents were seen taking refuge on rooftops while several cars were fully submerged.
